Wee Crafty Folk – Community & Craft Fayre
A group of like minded folk have got together to hold a monthly (weekend long) fayre! – but one with a difference!
We are artists, actors, crafters, designers, bakers & makers! We create, support, chat, teach, demonstrate, sell, swap, laugh and enjoy! We want everyone to join in!
We hope the Wee Crafty Folk Community & Craft Fayres venture will be adopted and supported by more locals as a community event, as well as bringing something new and exciting to the area for tourists to visit. We hope to forge parnerships with other organisations and introduce creative community projects involving anyone who’s interested. For more information on the events, or to apply for a table, email [email protected] |
“Wee Crafty Folk” crafting group was founded by Charlotte Baston at the Garwnant Visitor Centre, (forestry commission site on south edge of Brecon Beacons) where it ran successfully for over two years until December 2013. The premise behind founding the crafting group was to provide a friendly non-competitive environment where those involved could support and mentor each other. To the group making friends, supporting the community, offering opportunities and well being is of far greater importance than making a profit; therefore, we offer free entry to the public and reasonable fees to the vendors. We will be inviting local groups, i.e. Scouts, Guides, W.I., Lions, etc, to have a stall.
Bishop Bevan Hall, Lion Street, Brecon is our new venue. Right in the heart of the town, it is easily accessible, with local parking right on the doorstep. |
The First Fayre!
The wonderful people at Fyi:Brecon made a wonderful video at our first craft fayre, showcasing many of the crafters and personalities and asking Charlotte to explain the premise behind Wee Crafty Folk.
